Our school held a lecture on "Concept, Planning and Writing of Scientific Research Papers"

         At 3 o'clock in the afternoon on October 17, our school held a lecture on "Concept, planning and writing of scientific research papers-viewpoint is the soul, experiment is the body, and words are the form" in the lecture hall on the first floor of the library. This lecture was given by Professor Cijun Shuai , a distinguished professor of Changjiang Scholars. Kai Xu, deputy director of the Nanchang Campus Management Committee, and hundreds of students from our school attended the lecture.


Before the lecture began, Director Xu gave a brief opening remark. Then the lecture officially began. Cijun Shuai gave a detailed introduction to the three parts of scientific research papers: viewpoints, experiments and text. Later, he described how to fill the experimental body of the thesis based on his own scientific research experience. He emphasized that searching for a picture is an effective way to enrich the body of a thesis. By searching for a picture, the proposition composition of thesis writing can be degraded into fill-in-the-blank questions and multiple-choice questions to achieve the goal. He explained the five aspects of scaffold preparation, microstructure, mechanical properties, macro devices, and physical and chemical properties in the field of 3D printing and manufacturing artificial bone.


Then, regarding the writing of the paper, Shuai Cijun proposed that collecting reading materials is the first step in scientific research, and the collection of materials is very important. It also gave a detailed introduction on how to download and collect articles, and pointed out the precautions for finding and reading literature from three aspects: high-quality literature, comprehensive information, and multi-angle analysis. He pointed out the necessary content of the thesis from the main ideas, ins and outs, research motives, research content, principles and methods, document analysis, framework structure, process steps, experimental analysis, result analysis, key to innovation, and functional significance. He shared his experience and methods from the writing of the thesis title, abstract, introduction, journal selection, submission, and reviewer comments. Finally, Cijun Shuai pointed out that scientific research should be kept away from academic misconduct. In the process of scientific research, we should organize in time, be a caring person, be diligent in thinking, actively communicate, and calm the mind. Success depends on persistence!

The lecture ended successfully with the warm applause of the teachers and students. Cijun's Shuai wonderful and vivid speech gave the students a deeper understanding of scientific research papers, further broadened their academic horizons, and laid the foundation for future academic research.


Personal profile: Cijun Shuai , professor and doctoral supervisor. Has been engaged in teaching and scientific research in the field of laser micro-nano manufacturing. Published more than 190 SCI papers as the first/corresponding author, including 72 papers in TOP journals, 89 papers in JCR area 1, 47 papers with IF>5.0, and the highest five papers with an average IF=12.08; It has been cited more than 4590 times by more than 50 academicians at home and abroad, 24 ESI highly cited papers, 21 hot papers and 3 cover papers; Published 8 monographs, authorized 51 patents, served as an outstanding reviewer for 7 journals; presided over more than 30 national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects such as the National Science Research Key Project, with a research funding of more than 30 million yuan. Won one hundred national excellent doctoral dissertations in 2009, was hired as Hunan Furong Scholar Distinguished Professor in the same year and was selected into the New Century Excellent Talent Support Program of the Ministry of Education; In 2012, he won the National Natural Science Foundation of China Outstanding Youth Science Fund and the Ministry of Education Huo Yingdong Young Teacher Fund; in 2013, he won the Hunan Provincial Outstanding Youth Science Fund; In 2014, he was hired as a distinguished professor of Yangtze River Scholars of the Ministry of Education; in 2015, he was selected as a young and middle-aged science and technology innovation leader of the Ministry of Science and Technology; in 2016, he was awarded the Changsha Youth Science and Technology Award.
